cabin fever

We haven't seen a temperature above freezing for the past week and a half and with negative wind chills (even down in the -20's!) it has just been too cold to send the kids outside to play...and we're starting to notice the effects. On Sunday afternoon the kids were tearing loudly around the house, so we sent them up to the attic to play. Usually this results in a mess that we close the door on and leave for them to deal with when they want a particular toy that is buried in the aftermath. What we didn't realize was that it was "Super Sunday" and that we were going to get a super mess. Once the toys were dumped and piled, the kids discovered our game and puzzle cabinet and proceeded to empty it and divide the fascinating and colorful contents of each box. Game pieces, dice, cards, marbles, and *gasp* 7,500 puzzle pieces became buried treasure. Well, Adam and I have always liked putting puzzles together...I'll let you know when we're done.
