When kids are two years old they like to do things all by themselves. Right now, Anthony likes to pick up the phone and hand it to mom (consider that a warning if you call me and no one answers for a while...). He likes to push the buttons on the washer and dryer for me. He likes to put the soap in the dishwasher, close it, lock it, and try to turn the dial to start it. He likes to get dressed, get in and out of the van, screw the cap on his sippy cup, brush his teeth, climb into his crib, and countless other things by himself. If I try to do something that he wants to do, he takes my hand and says, "No. Self.", "No. Anty.", "Anty do it." or "No. Anty self". I think this is pretty interesting, because when Teresa was two, she asserted herself with the phrase, "Me do it" or "Me do it by self" and my two year old Catherine always said, "My do it."
In spite of their familial similarities, I love observing how different each of my kids are and look forward to watching their individual personalities develop and helping them discover their unique talents as they grow up.
