thankful for...

...juicy watermelon, cold air-conditioning, and a refreshing shower at the end of a long, hot day at the Camp Creek Antique Machinery and Threshing Show and our combined parish picnic. When it is more than 90 degrees with humidity around 70%, it is not a good day to be outside; but there were so many cool things to see at the show (like a miniature railroad, saw mill, old tractors, farm equipment, and a railroad steam crane that reminded me of Mike Mulligan's Steam Shovel) and good food and friends at our church picnic, that it was worth feeling hot, sweaty, and sticky all day. Nevertheless; I am glad to be clean and cool again.
