I thought it would be fun to go camping last weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to plan and execute a full-fledged camping trip, so we popped up the camper and had a campfire and picnic meals right in our own backyard. No worries about packing enough food; the fridge and pantry were well-stocked. We had full access to modern bathrooms, complete with showers. Best of all, it didn't cost us a penny. Realizing how much fun this was for the kids and how easy it was on us - and our budget - we'll be going camping a lot more often next year.
Just for fun, here are a couple of pictures of Stephen with daddy's headlamp on:
Adam picked up an "antique" cast iron National Walking Sprinkler at a local auction on Labor Day for $10. Anthony has had fun helping daddy fix it up.
