our ducks

Our mallards are not quite 3 weeks old and won't be full-grown until they are 8 weeks, but they are big and stinky enough to be out of my basement and into the garage. I thought this picture of them was funny: The two in the back make me think of the rare pushmi-pullyu.

Our buffs have laid, from Easter Sunday through last night, two dozen eggs. We had our first breakfast of duck egg omelets on Sunday after church. They were comparable to the farm-fresh chicken eggs we've been eating, although they were slightly larger and the whites are much more clear. Nutritionally, they are higher in just about everything including minerals and most vitamins.

Here is a picture of them enjoying a swim. They're messy and stinky, but when you look at those smiling faces, you just can't help but smile, too.
