beautiful birds!

Yesterday we had another birding first: an Indigo Bunting has found us! I got this picture of him at our feeder with a bright yellow American Goldfinch. I had to take it through a window - so it's a little fuzzy.

We've also had several bright orange Orioles who have claimed our hummingbird feeder as their own and visit throughout the day. To round out the color spectrum, there are also a few Blue Jays and red Cardinals who frequent our feeders. An occasional Ruby-Throated hummingbird provides a touch of green in the spring and fall, and the iridescent feathers of of the abundant Common Grackle provide some violet to complete the rainbow on a sunny day.
