finally!

This cool summer has delayed the ripening of most of our garden produce. The tomatoes, in particular have taken a long time to redden. The last few 90+ degree days have been good to us and it is time to make tomato sauce. We have 50 pounds of Romas, here. There are at least another 50 lbs of orange tomatoes on the vines and twice as many green ones. We also have a lot of Rutgers and Brandywine tomatoes...they'll add good flavor...better get back outside to finish picking them!



We are also getting quite a lot of green beans...we've canned seven quarts of dilly beans and steamed them for dinner several times. I'll be cutting and freezing the 15lbs I have, here:
