light blogging ahead

The school year has started and most of my free time is taken up by planning lessons: picking out books to read, crafts to make, and other fun preschool / pre-kindergarten things. I'm really enjoying it. I think the kids are having fun, too.

We're also buy putting our vegetable garden to bed for the winter and doing all kinds of fall gardening jobs like pruning here, planting there, and transplanting from here to there. Let's not forget that we burn wood in the winter and there is a lot of wood to cut, haul, split and stack.

In the meantime, I'll just blog about trips we take, important milestones, and cute things the kids say. For example, tonight at the dinner table Catherine said, when reprimanded for taking a swipe at the butter with her finger, "I wasn't eating it. I was just tasting it a lot."

Hopefully I'll have a few pictures to share, as well. I'll leave you with these, taken by our budding photographer, Catherine:
