first snow

We woke up to the first snowflakes of the year gently falling, swirling, tumbling to the ground. The forecast predicts less than an inch of accumulation, but the kids are ready to bundle up and play outside. Although I am enjoying the beauty and peace of the snow quietly blanketing the ground, I'm trying hard to remember the magic of freezing - I mean playing in the snow because that is where we will likely be later this morning.
