These lovely tulips bloom every year. I didn't plant them. I have never done anything to help (or hurt) them and each spring I wait for them to bloom faithfully as they have each year that we have lived here. This year did not disappoint me.
Surrounding these lovely blooms is a sea of fragrant wild blue phlox aka blue woodland phlox aka wild sweet william. It is another one that I didn't plant, but I'm doing everything I can to help it spread in the shaded area under our mulberry tree. It is beautiful in spring and it remains as a lush green ground cover through the summer, keeping out the weeds.
