We also received more than the 12 Blue Swedish ducklings, which are the cutest little things. You can see that their colors come out "blue" (gray) "silver" (yellow) and black. Among the grays, some are light gray and some are much darker - they actually look brown - and have solid black bills and feet. We were interested in this breed because of the variety in coloration. We'll see how they change as they feather out:
The chicken coop is almost done and ready for ALL our laying hens. We are giving away the Buff ducks that have been laying eggs for us when we pick up 30 laying hens from one of my husband's co-workers who is moving. I think we'll have to learn how to cull these hens. We don't plan on eating that many eggs but there are a lot of people we know who are interested in buying 'farm fresh' eggs and we hope to be able to pay for their feed by selling their eggs...if we make some money on top of that, it would be even better.
The chicken on the left doesn't have any tail feathers!
