first fruits

We've got delicious apricots, which I've been keeping my eye on; and cucumbers, which I was surprised to find ready to pick already! This is the first year we've successfully grown cucumbers (hard to believe?!) Every other year they have been terribly bitter. These are delicious grown big for eating. If we start to get too many, I'll have to try pickling some of the smaller ones. They are, after all, Boston Pickling cucumbers.

Our Rutgers and Romas are covered with little green tomatoes. We've also been harvesting radishes (too spicy for most of us, but my husband and 4yo love them) and eating our yellow raspberries (lots to harvest this year) and the kids have been feasting on mulberries every day. We also enjoyed some juneberries (aka serviceberries) off our small tree while they lasted.
