birthday boy

We *tried* to find fresh donuts in town after Mass, but the two small grocery stores don't carry them and the bakery is closed on Sunday. We almost went to the gas station(s) but decided to eat out at a local cafe instead, where we ordered Mickey Mouse pancakes for the birthday boy.

It was a warm day, so we enjoyed playing outside in the mud and on the slowly melting snow mountains.

In lieu of a nap, we ate popcorn while watching a favorite, Cars.

Catherine and Teresa helped me bake (and decorate) the cake, which Anthony thoroughly enjoyed.

Finally, we opened his present: a loader to go with the dump truck he got for Christmas.

These will soon be outside toys (hopefully) in a sandbox, but more likely in the driveway, which, despite the picture, is not always such a muddy mess!
