We have ten sex-link chicks; four red (also called Red Star) and six black (also called Black Star) chicks. When we brought them home they looked like this:



Just four days later, you can see how their wing feathers are growing in. Once they are fully feathered, they can go out to the garage until the coop is finished.



My husband got 2 dozen duck eggs inexpensively from a "crazy duck lady" in town. They are going to be some kind of a Mallard - Pekin mix. They were not bred intentionally, it is just that there are Mallards and Pekins in the same yard and these are the eggs they laid. We are hoping that it will be fun for us and our kids to incubate and watch them hatch. We should be able to tell if they are good eggs next week.
